The North San Diego Sprinter runs between Escondido and Oceanside every half hour. For $2 you can ride to the beach ($1) for seniors. Just hop aboard at one of the stations located all along the route and enjoy the scenery of areas never seen before by car, have lunch, shop, or watch the ocean waves. Take your children or grandchildren with you (under 6 years old travels free). What a great way to spend a couple of hours and save gas.
Even though this blog is mostly about things North San Diego, every now and then I’ll post something that I am doing that I am enjoying and think others will too. This post is about a book I am reading titled “eat, pray, love” by Elizabeth Gilbert. I’m about half way through it. It’s a woman’s book about ” A celebrated writer’s irresistible account of her pursuit of worldly pleasure, spritual devotion, and what she really wanted out of life”
In a nutshell, she takes off on a one year journey to Italy, India, and Indonesia (4 months emersed in each place) and chronicles her adventures and personal discoveries along the way. She enjoys wonderful Italian food and learns to speak Italian in Rome, meditates and prays in India and learns to love in Indonesia. It’s exceptionally well written and absorbing and I can’t wait to get to the next chapter. I’m listening to it on audio book while I walk each day. Keeps me going.

Rainy Days in North San Diego
Uncharacteristic. But we love it…for a day, maybe two! We don’t get winter in Southern California so when the weather man says we are going to have a storm, most of us love it. Until it becomes a bit too much….as it has in this El Nino year. Inches and [...]
Top of the City of San Marcos with 360 degree panoramic views. On a clear day you can see Catalina Island. Just opened in 2009, Double Peak Park is a must visit when you come to San Marcos. You can drive all the way to the top where you will find a picnic area with [...]
