Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos
Not only friendly to children and Easter Bunnies but horses and dogs and their owners! One of the largest parks in San Marcos, it is located in a semi rural area where large equestrian properties proliferate. Not uncommon to see horses with their riders on horse paths through the park, riding or practicing in the practice ring, or displaying their attributes at the show ring.
Also available at the park is a large barn when many events are held, a children’s play area, and Heritage Park, where the historical Cox and Bidwell Homes are displayed. Much expansion is going on in the Park, to soon include some sports fields, expanded Heritage Park, and other amenities. And Easter Eggs appear on the grounds at Easter for the City’s Easter Egg Hunt.
